BRUNEI’S nascent taxi industry needs to overcome a long list of problems before it can serve as an alternative mode of transport in a country where private cars dominate the road.
The problems range from competition with informal and illegal taxi operators to Brunei being one of the world’s top car owning countries. Taxi rates are also quite high, dissuading commuters from taking them.
