THE Department of Economic Development and Planning (JPKE) is conducting a study on Minimum Cost of Basic Needs (KMKA), a method that is normally used to define a poverty line.

In an interview with The Brunei Times, a statistics officer from JPKE, Hazim Hj Ramlee, said the data from the KMKA can be used as a building block to establish a poverty line.

He said the Minimum Cost of Basic Needs will provide the public and relevant agencies a better understanding of the minimum cost of living in Brunei.
