TEACHERS across the country will soon have their lessons observed, following the upcoming launch of the Teacher Performance Appraisal (TPA) in 2016.
Schools’ Inspectorate Department Director Tan Lian Lian said the first TPA cycle, which is slated to begin as early as January, mandates that each teacher is to have his or her lessons observed five times irrespective of experience or length of service.
“The appraisal cycle might be a year to one and a half years for secondary schools that have a large population, and a year for primary schools,” she said in an interview.
