Almost half of diabetics not aware they have disease

ALMOST half of the people suffering from diabetes do not know they have the disease, said a consultant endocrinologist at the Diabetic Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.

In an interview on the sidelines of the World Diabetes Day Roadshow at The Mall recently, Dr Yung Chee Kwang (pictured) said almost half of people suffering from Type 2 diabetes only found out they had the disease at a later stage.
